Mediaset, the Italian television network led by Pier , has acquired the rights to air a historical-themed fiction series titled DAVOS 1917. The series consists of six episodes and tells the story of Johanna Gabathuler, a nurse born and raised in the Swiss canton of Grisons, who, due to unforeseen circumstances, finds herself making a pact with the German secret service and becoming a spy and infiltrator.

Set in the city of Davos in 1917, during the final stages of World War I, the series revolves around the peaceful Swiss spa town becoming a meeting point for high-ranking military officials from various warring nations. Johanna, a Red Cross nurse, returns to Davos after discovering she is pregnant, hoping to find peace and tranquility. However, she soon discovers that Davos has become a stage for a silent war, where nurses and staff at her family's private clinic are mixed with spies and infiltrators of all kinds, secretly monitoring the powerful leaders residing there.

Johanna's life is further upended by the disappearance of her illegitimate daughter, leading her to reluctantly enlist with the German secret service in order to be reunited with her child. To fulfill her role as a spy, she must participate in a dangerous plan that will determine the outcome of the European conflict.

DAVOS 1917 is a Swiss-German fiction series consisting of six 45-minute episodes, produced by SRF (Swiss Broadcasting Corporation). It is a miniseries inspired by real events, involving spies and international conspiracies, and aims to shed light on Switzerland's role during World War I, despite its historical image as a neutral nation. DAVOS 1917 aired as a television event on the SRF channel, with three prime-time episodes scheduled for December 17, 18, and 20, 2023.
